Shop worker's web sale scam

A SALES assistant who sold more than £18,000 worth of stolen clothes and equipment from an outdoors shop online has been ordered to carry out 300 hours of community service.

Andrew Pringle, 22, put gear which had been taken from Graham Tiso Ltd for sale on eBay.

Defence agent Gillian Law said Pringle, of Western Harbour, Midway, suggested staff sell discounted items they had bought from the store on the website for a profit.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard Pringle had repaid the £18,269.
